I just purchased a new timing belt and tensioner. From what I found most Volvo Parts sites list the mechanical and hydraulic tensioner by the VIN #. At a specific VIN # they started using the mechanical tensioner. www.VolvoPartsDirect.com lists their tensioners by the change in VIN#.

if you are referring to timing belt tensioner check the number on your engine.... it should be on the cover on the timing area
