Just purchased a 2001 Volvo S60 and am pretty pleased so far with one exception. I have noticed, what I feel, to be excessive interior rattling. Seems to be coming from the side vents that are between the front and back doors, from the area around the sunroof and from the glove box at times. Has anyone else out there noticed these issues or am I being oversensitive. Thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

 

The Glove Box is a common one.

Not to sure about the B-pillar though.

 

The "B-pillar" noise that you're hearing may be the lock on the drivers door that you're hearing. Mine makes a very faint tapping noise, but I onlle notice it on dirt roads. The hole has just enough clearance around the rod for it to be able to wiggle a bit. I push it down and it seems to quiet down some, but it's still noticable. I also have the sun-roof rattle pretty consistantly, and the glove box rattle every-so-often.
