Default Front end squeaks and rattles

I have a 2004 XC90 bought 3 yrs ago that has a front end that rattles/squeaks at the smallest bump in the road. Does anyone have an idea on where to start? It is almost gone while breaking but can't do that all the time. Thanks

There are lots of rubber bushings in the suspension. I'd check that they are not moving or that the outside metal parts are not slipping in their mounts and also maybe spray some silicone lube where appropriate. I have no clue what the dealer might do to fix it.

This video might help. If not, search YouTube for others.

Most common noise is usually sway bar end links. Most common squeeks are sway bar bushings and spring seats.

second the spraying lube on bushings. that is a quick & easy way to check. if the noise happens when one wheel is rolling over something (like one wheel on speed bump and the other isn't) suspect sway bar bushings.

I get horrible rattles in my 2004 T6, in and around the passenger side dash/hood of car, almost sounds like it goes up the A pillar to around and near front of sunroof. Mainly when its cold, and of course on rough or bumpy roads.....irritating. The good news about that though, its the least of my newly developed problems with this vehicle. Tonight, I was awarded the all dreaded "Transmission Service Urgent" light. Guess this will be the 2nd transmission for this vehicle. Lets hope and pray for the best when I take it to Volvo in the morning..

Divincem they came out with a TCM software upgrade that change the shift points in the transmission. So far it has seemed to fix all of the 4T65 problems.

Back to the op , the most common things that fail are the upper strut mounts and the sway bar links. The easiest way to check if the upper strut mounts are broken is to take a 21 mm wrench or socket/w ratchet to the nut on top of the strut tower under the hood. Turn the nut clockwise and if it is broken you will be able to keep turning it, if it is not broken the mount will kick back. They way to check a sway bar link is to have the wheel off of the ground and pulling the sway bar link down and if its worn you should get some play.
