Hello there, not too sure if this has been covered but each time I go up through the gears 1-2, 2-3, sometimes 3-4 but rarely 4-5 a knocking noise occurs when I press the clutch and also when I release the clutch on my 2004 S60 D5.

It also happens if I stay in gear e.g. 3rd and come off and on the accelerator.

The top mount has been changed to a harder type by the previous owner (he said it did not knock before the change)

Is there any specific mounts that would also need changing to eradicate this knocking?

There is one between the transmission and subframe check that one as well. It might be bad causing the noise.
