Mobil1 0W-40 in S60 2.4L?
Greetings once again, Volvo enthusiasts.
After doing so much work on my S60 (I named it "Jody" yesterday), since my last thread, I now have eliminated all major issues, and moved on to routine maintenance.
After several days of research, I have noticed people saying 5W-30, 0W-30, and, most interestingly, 0W-40 Mobil1 European Car Formula works very well in the 850R, S60 2.4T, and T5 models. I have purchased Mobil 0W-40 European Car Formula and a complete brakes kit, since I'm hitting the road in two days.
Should I do the oil change with 0W-40? I'm asking just to be safe, and to see what you all think. Jody has an N/A 2.4L B5244S power plant, and is almost up to 227K miles. Throughout the seasons, temperatures usually range around -20°C to almost 40°C max where I live.
Thanks in advance.

Mobile 1 0w-40 is what I use in all my volvos. During the harsh parts of the winter here in maine if I use a 5w-30 I hear a slight lifter noise upon start up. after switching to 0-40 I noticed its quieter when I start it up on cold mornings. I was planning to switch for a summer weight but seems to me that the 0-40 works great year round.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It was very helpful, and now, I feel more confident with 0W-40.
