Default My Hazard light! 2004 s60

My hazard light switch does not work. When I connect it they blink but do not shut off. When I disconnect it they stay on until I reconnect it. Is it the switch or something else?

As it flashes? Yes, you can hear it click as it flashes.

No, does the switch click when depressed?

Actually no, it doesn't click when turning on or when flashing.

It has 3 wires going into the harness. I have tried 2 switches. Been working on this car and this is my last issue. Very frustrating. I plug in the switch and it turns on. I remove the switch and it continues to blink. Then when I reconnect the switch it turns off. Urgg!!!

Could be a CEM, too. I'd need to check with the wiring diagrams.

Are the switches new or used?
Do the turn signals work?

The first switch came with the car. The second I purchased on ebay. The signals work as they should.

So they are both used?

I would try a new one. The only other thing is the CEM, which would be expensive.

The black wire is ground. The yellow wire should have battery voltage when the button is released and low voltage when pressed. The yellow and white wire is for the lamp.

Sorry for the delay. I just received a new switch from Volvo and the same problem is happening. I plug the switch in and the hazard lights start flashing. When I unplug the switch they stay on. When I reconnect it they turn off. So depressing.

Here is your wiring diagram - looks like it might be the CEM?
