Default New to Forum, and have a question already lol

Hi, my uncle has a 04 S60 and im helping him fix the car up a bit. He wants to disable the DRL, he has upgraded to HID's and found that the DRL are annoying. I know that the "stealer" wants $98 to program the lights to not come on, but $98 can go into something more important then that lol. So my question is, has anyone found a alternative to disabling the DRL? Maybe Cutting a certain wire? Unplugging something? Im not sure, so please any input would be great

Thank You in advance

Going through the dealership is the only way to go unfortunately. If you unplug a bulb or cut a wire you'll have bulb out indicators going off. I think one of the dealers in my area was charging much less then that. I should take the dealer all of about 10-15 min to hook the car up to VIDA and turn off the DRL's.

I'll save you some money. DON'T disable the daytime running lights.

This is a very worthwhile safety feature that makes you much more visible to oncoming traffic. In Canada, DRLs have been the law for new cars since 1990.

Do not underestimate the importance of this simple safety feature.

He is right, as annoying as they are it's worth keeping. Never hurts to keep them, I mean it's better then having a set of lights you can no longer use.

Welcome to the forums btw!

You should be able to pull the bulb, then install a resistor across the wires...
