Default Which S60 to Buy?

Hi, first time on this forum. Looking for some opinions- I currently own an '03 S60 2.5T AWD with 180k miles- have thoroughly enjoyed the car, but am looking to replace it. Am now stuck deciding between a loaded '09 S60 2.5T AWD SE and an '11 S60 T6 AWD, both have similar low miles and are about $3k different in price. Like the old body style of the '09, but love the performance and technology of the '11, just not sure of the reliability of the T6? What would you do? Appreciate the insight-

Granted latest S60 is more modern and handles better, but I've heard about electric troubles really pissing off owners and hard to correct even by Volvo. I would keep it safe and go for the older model given similar miles.

Tough call, but assuming that resale value is not a concern if you tend to drive cars to 150K+, then I would buy the '09. It is at the end of a model run where presumably the majority of the major issues have been corrected. The '11 is the 2nd year of the new model and usually has less issues than 1st year cars, but more than 4-5th year + cars. JMO

Thanks for all the input- I decided to go with the 2011 T6 AWD- am picking it up today. Not to sound boring, but it was actually the CitySafe and BLIS features that helped make up our minds vs the older model. And 300hp (vs 208) is nice too!

That a beast for sure, and those cars have great engines. Wish you enjoy it!

Swiftgc...thanks for posting your question. I too am considering an S60 and am not sure which if I want the T5 or T6. My budget allows me to spend around $18,000 and want to know what issues I need to concern myself with?

I've also been considering a 2009 Saab 9-5 sedan in the $13,000 price range. That will allow me to get a clean, one-owner 9-5 with around 50,000 miles. I really love both cars...and appreciate an engine that's not Direct Injected.

Of course like everybody here, I would love to buy the right year S60 that will be relatively reliable. Thanks!

the t6 engines aren't as reliable as the t5 but very very peppy, i have driven many at work, but i have never seen a t6 come in with engine problems.
