Is there a clamp that connects to the exhaust
Hello everyone
I'm sure this will be a easy one for you.
The exhaust on my 2001 S60 has 2 hangers that are welded to the exhaust, both of them have rusted off, and I am told I can buy some kind of clamp that has tags sticking out to hang the exhaust on the rubber mountings.
The position of this is the second set in, if you were starting from the back.
has anyone any idea what it is called (so I can search for it), or a link to a good supplier, if you know exactly what I mean.
thank you.
Adam

I had the same thing happen on my '02 S60. I took it to a muffler shop and they fixed it for $20 by welding on a new bracket. I don't know how much those clamps are that you're talking about, but it might just be worth the $20 to have someone else fix it.
The rear muffler bracket on my 2002 S60 rusted away and broke off leaving the muffler hanging. Easy fix (if you don't want to get a new bracket welded on or purchase a new muffler) is to purchase the following parts from any local auto supply store (I purchased the parts from Advance Auto Parts:
(1) Heavy duty tail pipe hanger by ROI, part#518001 price $4.99
(1) U clamp 2 1/8" by ROI, part#517218 price $3.49
To install, remove the rear bolt from the chassis located near the rear muffler. This bold diameter is slightly larger than the holes provided with the new tail pipe hanger. I drilled out the fourth hold from the top end of the hanger (second hole from the rubber mount end) and then bent the hanger 45 degrees so that the drilled hole can be mounted to the frame. I re-installed the bolt and the manually adjusted (rotated) the U-clamp such that the nuts from the clamp were not seen and the muffler was raised up as high as possible. Only visible sign after the installation is the u- clamp itself which can be seen after the clamp is tightened down. New hanger has a rubber mount so that the original rubber mount can be removed from the pin and discarded. Time to drill and install was less than an hour. Worked perfectly, looks good and no rattles.
