Trunk unlocking on its own and a bulb warning

Trunk unlocking, a bulb warning, and a misbehaving fuel gauge
Update the whole thing . . . . this is the email that I sent to my mechanic this morning. Anyone have any thoughts?
------------------
This all started around the time that you discovered the leaking fuel pump
so it might be related but, then again, it might not.
Bear with me as this gets involved.
The first thing that I noticed was that the trunk would unlock itself
while I was driving. I'd get an alert on the dash that that the trunk was
open. Sure enough, when I stopped, the trunk would be open. I started
checking the trunk before I got into the car and the locked trunk would
unlock after a couple minutes.
Then I started getting an intermittent warning that a bulb for a position
light had failed. It would come on for a second, go away, and come back.
Next I noticed that the rear doors were not locking or unlocking
consistently with either the fob or the door button. They'd lock and
unlock maybe one out of ten times. Also, when the rear doors wouldn't
unlock, the trunk lid switch would not open the trunk.
Then the fuel gauge started to act wonky. I first noticed that it
wouldn't show the fuel level for a few seconds after turning the car on.
Then it would shut off and go to empty after a few seconds, not even the
low fuel light would be on. The other instruments, including the clock
seem to work fine.
I foolishly thought, "Maybe I am low on gas" and went to add some. The
gas door would not open with the button on the dash so I had to open it
manually from inside the trunk. It turned out that the tank was almost
full.
