So I don't usually post on forums but I have been unable to find anything online at all. I have a 2007 Volvo S60 2.5T and I want to do some upgrades to it. Does anyone know how much boost the engine can handle? And also how much boost before the "Check Engine" light comes on? I've been trying to research but with no luck. Any feedback appreciated! Thanks!

 

I'll go out on a limb here and assume that your car has 1 or 2 knock sensors. If that's the case, there's a good chance that the extra boost may cause knocking in which case the computer will dial back the timing to prevent the knocking, the net effect of which was that there wasn't a whole lot of extra power. This is what happened when I put an underdrive pulley on my Bonneville SSEi.
