Volvo s60 2001 Transmission/ Valve body question
Hello all,
My transmission is slowly getting worse. It is currently slipping in first and second gear. It occurs the most when the transmission is heated in stop and go traffic.
I recently took it to a transmission shop and was told that my valve body was messed up however he recommended that I replace the whole transmission since the 2001 model volvo s60 is prone to transmission failures since it is not a well build transmission. Is this true?
Also what would be a fair price for a new value body vs. a new transmission?
Thank you for reading and your time.

The valve body is a really expensive part and seeing how old the car is, putting a valve body may not fix it.If the vehicle is an older car iI always give the option of of the doing the valve body but most of the time with high milage cars it doesn't fix the problem.
