$38 for a dipstick! Ripoff???

Hey,
I need a new oil dipstick for my 1999 S70 T5. The local shop wants $38 for the part. Is this price about right or am I getting overcharged?

Yes but what you have to watch is there is about 5 different ones.
If you can try to find the tube and dipstick as one and you will be fine.

Aren't they 17 something bucks on FCP groton? plus shipping that is, but still better than $38.

I just paid $15.51 for my OEM dipstick from tascaparts.com. Looks like the dipstick for your car (9454823) is $13.75.

BUT......the bad news.....you have a car where Volvo wants you to replace the dipstick and dipstick tube with new part numbers. I don't really understand this, but here it is: dipstick (9497557) $23.49; tube (9497554) $25.85.
