If you are having a hard time figuring out how to change oil, leave the timing belt alone. You should have the cartridge from what I've heard.

I just was trying to figure out why different places tell me different things with the oil.. i changed everything else on my car which was pretty easy i changed the fuel filter that was an experience getting gas in my face and the air filter pretty easy and the timing belt my dad says we should do cuz i have 80,000 on the car.

Sorry if we offended you.
If you are in USA than in every auto-parts store or in the Walmart they have catalogs with filters (oil, air, fuel,... etc), You just find your car, make, model, year and engine and there should be list of all filters.
As for timing belt here is link for older model S70 so you could get an idea what to expect. If you search this forum you might be able to find some pictures for your exact model.

Man, we are not trying to make you feel bad so please calm down. If you make the right mistake changing the timing belt you will destroy your engine and wont have to worry about changing the oil any more.

Wal-mart usually do not have the cartridge type filter. I usually get my filters from ipd or FCP by the crate (10 at a time), since I change oil around her at least once per month.

The instructions for timing belts are very good, just tight on space from what I've heard. If you do the belt, you probably should do the tensioner and pulleys as well. Before you do it pull the cover and if you see 1 drop of anti-freeze in there at the water pump, replace that as well.

BTW, if the car is 10 years old and has not had a belt replacement yet, I would do it ASAP. My car had 60,000 miles on it the 1st time I replaced the belt. Matter of fact, since the car is that old and you don't know if the pulleys and rollers have been replaced, I would go ahead and replace them. Better safe than sorry.

Ok well there are no cracks and it looks new but my dad wants to do it anyway.. And i know it was a dumb question its just i do not understand why advanced auto parts gave me a spin on while the other place i went to where they had synthetic oil on sale had a cartridge. I'm guessing it is just a typo i am not sure
