98 s70 t5- rpms sporadic, surging, and running rich
Hey everyone, its me again. I have a 98 s70 t5 auto with 160k. About a month ago I had a cel pop up for a speed sensor which I believe is due to my bad abs module. The light would be on for one day off the next... it did this for a few weeks. over the last few weeks the cel light has been constant- My problems began when the light would not go away.
last week my rpms began to drop when coming to stop and the car was near stalling. once this happened my gas took a major ****. at most im getting 10 mpgs in the city.
today when driving home at about 30mph the car began to surge, rpms went from 1500 to 2500 while still going the same speed. I let off the gas the car rpms drop well below idle and the car slows down a lot faster then it should when releasing the throttle. Once I pulled into my driveway and parked it the rpms continued to bounce horribly and eventually died.
I fired her back up drove to autozone to have my codes pulled. The moment the plugged the code puller into my car the flashing up arrow appeared!
They pulled codes for a throttle position sensor, multiple misfire, bank 1 too rich, and a speed sensor.
What scares me the most is the flashing arrow and the fact that I am misfiring after a full scale tune up done less than 2 months ago.
What could be causing my car to misfire after a full tune up and why did the flashing arrow suddenly show up the moment they plugged in the code puller? Last time my car was misfiring was because it needed a tune up and the cel would flash when it was misfiring. none of this has happend this time and I'm starting to get very scared. I have almost 7 grand in repairs on this car and would absolutely be devastated if I needed an engine replacement.
Thanks for your time everyone- all feedback is greatly appreciated!
