Randomly my A/C won’t work when I start the car and sometimes it does. The A/C blows cold when it does and the fans work fine, but sometimes it won’t let me turn it on at all, the lights in the center dash for A/C don’t come on and can’t select on or off nor do air recirculation work.

 

do you see any blinking lights on the AC or REC buttons when the fan fails? (on older models that signals you have an ECC fault code). If the lights don't turn on at all, I'd be thinking you either have a wiring issue (power or ground) to the ECC module or an intermittant fault in the module (say due to a crack in a solder joint etc). You should be able to pick up a used ECC (climate control) module at a yard or on eBay for under $100 but I'd check for wiring issues first.
