hesitation between 1500-2500rpm
I have a hesitation between 1500-2500rpm and the problem seems to be getting worse. The problem goes away under hard acceleration. I put in new spark plugs but it did not help. I'd like to fix the problem myself but am not sure where to begin. I've thought about replacing the ignition coils ($250 +) but hate to do so if they are not the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions or instructions on how to test the coils?
Thanks,
Richard

Anything on this issue? It feels like after 1500rpm I get a misfire or so, I believe it's one of my coils as my mechanic always said to me the coils tend to go on these cars.
No engine light yet, wish I had one so I could do a code-pull. And the problem seems more prominent while the car is colder or the first hour of driving, after a while it goes away.
New Plugs, New Head. I think it's the coil in my case.
Any insight would be nice.

Are you sure about that?
Don't tell me that, that's another 500 dollars plus labour. Apparently my mechanic cleaned it while he had the head out.

I am having a similar hesitation issue now too. My problem started after my most recent oil filter change + top off of 1 qt of oil per the auto-rx sludge removal instructions, Fast Track Engine Sludge and Oil Burning Instructions using Auto-Rx Internal Engine Cleaner.
The car seems to stutter at the low rpm and then it will surge a bit and then settle back down. Not sure why an oil change would cause such a problem ...
