Default Intermittent Turn Signal InOp

I have had a problem with intermittent failure of my turn signal circuit (#27 Fuse). At first the fuse would blow unpredictably. Now the turn signal just stops working until I shut the car down and then restart. Then all is good for while. I have replaced the flasher unit with the turn signal relay in it...did not fix the problem. Don't know what else to do....anyone have an idea?????

I have a 2000 S 40 that is displaying the same problem. Recently the turn signals completely stopped working for 3 days. As soon as I got it to the shop they began working again. Thus, making it difficult for the mechanic to determine the exact cause. Does anyone know what might be the source, and moreover repair, for this problem?

Unfortunately, no. I did finally get a wiring diagram for that circuit and plan to have a more capable friend take a look. I have returned the Hazard Switch with the relay because it did not solve the problem. I did notice that there are two fuses in the system, but that is not likely to be the problem. My best guess right now is a loose wire that randomly gets loose.
