Default new to the s70, some lights are on?...

Just bought a 98 s70 20 valve 2.4L for about $4000, has 162k miles.

The lights on the hud are as follows:

1) ABS

2) Serv-ice

3) Tracs Off

Can somebody please explain to mean what these mean and how i can get rid of them?

ABS probably means something wrong with the ABS system.

Service - means the light has not been turned of by the dealer in the last 5,000 miles. It's a pain in the butt that means nothing.

Tracks Off - might go along with the ABS light.

Your're going to have to have the codes pulled to see what is wrong. You can take it to Autozone and they will pull the codes for you. Have to have and ODB-II scanner to get the codes on a 98.

I would suspect the ABS module is cause both the ABS and Trac light issues.

Welcome to the forum.

>2) Serv-ice
I think one of the low-paid flight attendantsrefused to put ice cubes in your Coke.....[8D].

The first two replies are the ones to follow indeed. For ABS & TRAC problems, you may have to visit a dealer, unless you can afford a fancy OBD-II code-reader that can access your ABS & TRAC. The same may be true for routine service reminder light. You could try visiting a local auto parts shop such as AutoZone and have them retrieve codes/erase the service light, though their scanner may not be able to do so.

Good luck,

JPN
