Default OBX exhaust install issue

1998 S70 GLT

I just installed an OBX exhaust and I have a concern with the SAS. There was not a fitting for it on the new downpipe. Does this need to be connected to the exhaust? Is this going to throw my CEL? If anyone has any feedback on this I would greatly appreciat it. Other than this the exhaust was an easy install and it looks and sounds great. My catalytic failed and rotted out. Found the OBX on Ebay, was the cheapest I found and was a full exhaust including a 3" downpipe.

You need to get a fitting welded in to install it. Yes it will throw a code for it.
Not 100% sure but I thing an O2 sensor one is the same threads.

The O2 sensors fit in there, but obviously you will get a CEL for the rear sensor since there's no cat.

He needs to add a bung for the Air pump system.
There is also a fix for the rear O2 code that will come up.

What is this SAS thing on the S70's? I thought it was just that second hose that goes into the air box, it's more than that? And what's the fix for the O2 code besides getting a cat added in? I'm planning on removing the rear O2 when I get a tune for my wagon.

The SAS is an air pump setup like a newer version of an EGR system.
For the rear O2 code go to the Auto parts store and find the spark plug non foulers.
You will need both that come in the pack. You screw 1 into the exhaust first. Then the second one you will need to drill the center out some so the O2 fits in there. Then screw the second one and O2 sensor back into the exhaust and you are done.

It pulls the rear 02 out of the direct exhaust flow and stops the code from coming up.

Mine came up as soon as I put the exhaust on. Then installed them and have not had the code since.

Ohhh really. Does the 02 sensor still get an accurate reading or is it merely tricking it into thinking there is a cat? And what are "spark plug non foulers"? Any chance you could rewrite that to be a little more understandable, I have no idea what's going on?

It fools the ECU.
You will need 2 of these(Not sure if they are the exact part numbers)
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...GRPTUNEAMS____
Then in one of then you will need to drill the center hole bigger so the O2 sensor will screw into it. Then screw both of them into the exhaust then the O2 sensor and you will be good to go.

OOOOoooooooooh. Now I get it. That seems pretty simple, maybe now I can hook my O2 sensors back up.

I decided to go legit and put a CAT on the car. I had a magnaflow quick flow welded on. I put the section back in with the cat prior to the second O2 sensor and I threw the code for the sensor. I turned around the section and reset the system and threw the code again. What is odd, was the fact that I did not throw the code until I put the CAT in. I am wondering if I twisted the wire and broke one of my connections for extending the O2 sensor. Have not checked yet. I did drop the sensor one time.

How do I test the sensor to see if it is bad, or something else?

Tech: I found out a way to bypass the SAS system. I am still working on it to see if it works. If it does, I will forward the information to you. I am only at twenty miles since the modification, but I have not thrown the SAS code as of yet.
