Rebuilt, I don't do that crap.

That is like buying a refurbished computer.

Sorry, thank you for the links but it doesn't help. I know I know refurb can be just as good as new. But what it comes down to is that it went bad before and had to be fixed. New is new and may or may not need to be fixed in its lifetime.

Bad example, as I work refurbishing computers and selling used ones, lol

Either way, I bought a used one, not even a refurb for $100 and its been fine

Is it really worth selling your car over?

My father told me to go look at cars today before I came home. So I am.

1. They are not keen on lending him a loaner car for a long time.

2. The way they told him it would be awhile before they could get the part. How long who knows.

So in the end I am out my car my dad is out his car. Because I am using it.

FYI this car has had more troubles then not.

- ETM
- Radiator
- Now steering rack

It all adds up and when the cost of the repairs out weighs the current value of a car... You get my point.

I don't know if I would be selling my car parts or not. Depends on if I get a new car and if that new can can use the same parts.

If I do get a new to me car I would look for a 1998 s70 turbocharged model and or a 1998 v70 model turbocharged.

Otherwise all my parts for my car I have are worthless.

But if I couldn't find any, I don't know what I would go for.

You do know that the cost of repairs will always overtake the value. I bought my car for $4000, I have put more than that into repairs and matinence. The car is still worth $4-$5k. But the point is you then have a solid running car. Ive replaced the power steering, turbo, wheel bearing, shocks, heater core, etc..... and yea all that is worth more than the car is worth, but now I have a really solid car.

My parents just bought some old junker for $350 which needed $2000+ in repairs when the KBB on it only $2500, was it a bad choice? No because now they have a car that has a ton of brand new parts. In the end cars are just something to sink your money into.

I dunno why I am defending you car, lol

If you do trade it in, its gonna cost you more, at trade in value my car is only worth $1.5k. But I wish you the best of luck and let us know if you do get that 98!

Yeah I recently had to replace my power steering rack and it cost me $1,200 at my local dealer for the whole job. It feels like new now but now I have a new problem arising, of course! The belts (serpentine?) are making some loud squeeking sounds!

On a side note. I had been having this intermittent moaning/groaning noise from the steering column. Now it wasn't hard to turn the wheel at this point. it had been going on for years. in warm weather and in cold weather is basically wasn't there.

Well it has been warmer the past few days since the fix and I haven't had this moaning/groaning sound! So I think this fixed two things with one stone. hopefully.
