Recently installed brakes make brushing sound when used
Hi, I put over 1000 miles on new brakes (non-OEM pads and rotors), and they work great but make noise. I have read that the brakes will make a brushing sound, especially if they have not been broken in. The sound is a metal on metal brushing soundand can be heard when the pedal is lightly touched. Also, one rotor seems to have slight groves in it like a vinyl record. Would that one rotor cause the brushing sound, and will that rotor wear smooth like the others over more time? Or are these just "noisy" brake parts? Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you got the lesser after-market stuff. Probably the semi-metallic pads. The OEM is organic and the rotors are made of a softer metal (but can't be machine/turns).
First check if it was installed correctly, if so try to break them in.
If that's the case, you may need to break them in. To to a parking lot or somewhere safe and slam your brakes as if your life depended on it. That's what I had to do on my brother's jeep, the dealership recommended us to. It stopped the noise.
