Rough first start then car stalls but starts perfect second try
Did the coils quick today and no change doing the plugs tomorrow ill probably bleed the brakes too than.. the rack and pinion was replaced about 7k ago by the previous owner had a few puddles in that area but the subframe was covered in fluids so i wiped everything down pretty good and havent seen any other puddles since so maybe the shop just didnt clean it up very good ill probably do a compression test once i get the plugs out to hopefully give me some peace of mind before i keep throwing parts at it
Calipers were replaced too paperwork says they found the resevoir empty filled it and found a leak and replaced it.. would running the abs pump with air for a long time damage it seen those can get pretty spendy ..gonna test the voltage going to the brake pedal position sensor before i replace it since that looks to be the ecm 9400 code either getting too high or low of a voltage but idk looks like people are saying that a dirty throttle body or maf sensor could also throw that code but all the code states is the brake pedal position sensor voltage so i guess thats where ill start
Once again thanks for your replies nobody i know seems to be into or know anything about volvos so sorry for being all over the place in responses just want to get this thing running and driving good been dreaming of getting one for years and finally took the chance
No problem, most folks here are glad to help. The S70 forum does not get as much action as the 850 forum, as the 850 was produced longer hence more people have them, but for the most part they are the same car with a different name. Anyway, the ECM code is most likely for the brake pedal sensor. One way to test the MAF is to start the car and get it idling. Then pull the connector off the MAF, IF the engine runs better the MAF is probably bad....if it runs worse, the MAF is good. However, if you pull the connector, it will throw a code and the check engine light will come on. You can read the code and if it is different than the ECM code you are getting, you'll know the ECM code you are getting is not maf related.
Well i tested the ohms on the sensor and that does seem to be the culprit but now i got it out and cant seem to get the new one in for the life of me the c clip doesnt want to lock down down all the way ive moved the oring with no change seems to be just barely off from the indent on the sensor tried wiggling it around for about an hour now without any luck any tips.. tried cleaning the housing off with no luck
Well the old take a break and come back to it trick worked got it in about 5 minutes no codes now to test the compression and actually do the plugs tomorrow thought that was gonna be a 5 minute job lol but the car gods thought otherwise
