Default S70 T5 Engine light question

I have a '99 T5 with an engine light that is going on and off regularly. Light comes on during start up sometimes and stays on for a day or two. Then the light will not come on for a few days and then turns back on. I had the car in to be checked out and replaced the cam sensor and cam pulley based on the computer code it was giving me. The light was off for a while and then came right back on. The engine does seem to gargle for a few seconds at ignition - not a clean balanced start - then it settles into a good idle. Based on the strange start, it seems like it could be a timing issue with the variable camshaft. Other than the start, the car is totally solid so I'm inclined to deal with the light and leave it alone but it is a little disconcerting. Any ideas or experience with this kind of problem?

Default RE: S70 T5 Engine light question

My wife's 99 does the EXACT same thing to the letter. The sputters during start up about 4 out of every 5 cold starts, her check engine light is on all the time, **** poor performance too. We took it to autozone to have scanned last year and they said the code was for a crank position sensor. We replaced that with no luck. Turns out, our volvo mechanic is 99% sure it's the front 02 sensor dead becuase when he scanned it, it throws a code for fuel/air bank indicating most likely a failed sensor.
