I have a 2000 S70 SE package with 105500 miles. Lately, when ever I accelerate there is a loud viration that can be heard inside the cabin, not so much outside the car. Also at ideal there is a light ticking noise but it could be normal, I don't know. The engine performance is great and there is no noticable change with the acceleration, just the very loud vibration noise under mid-heavy acceleration! If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it!

exhaust? i don't know but if I hope it's something as simple as that.

the ticking noise, could it be the tappets? i have that problem with my car and it's driving me crazy.

 

Maybe engine mounts are collapsed and you hear the engine rubbing on the subframe.

 

And the ticking noiseshould be normal, as long as the engine is cold and disappears after a few minutes. In the 850 (very similar car to the S70) owner's manual, there is a statement that this is normal.

If you're still concerned, I would recommend that you give it a try on full-synthetic oil, 10W-30 with OEM (MANN; made in Germany or Argentina) filter.
