Service Light & Washer Fluid Sensor Question
Hello guys, I just found this site and it seems to be very informative here. I have a couple of questions to ask and maybe you guys can lend me a hand here.
My mother has a 1999 Volvo S70 w/ 101,xxx on the ticker (Non Turbo). It's an extra car that the family uses quite often.
Anyways i'll get onto the questions.
These cars will throw a Service Light every 3,000 miles when they are do for a oil change correct? Well I do all minor work on the car(oil change, brakes, coolant flushes, ect). I just want to know if there is a way to clear this light? The nearest dealer is about an hour 1/2 away, I don't want to go that far to get charged to clear a light.
My next question is about the washer fluid sensor light. I have the resevoir full of fluid. The dash light stays on for some reason. During acceleration & just normal cruisin the light will stay lit on the dash, during braking the light will go off until I let go of the brakes. Im guessing that the sensor is bad on the bottom of the resevoir, are these easy to obtain/expensive?
Once again I would appreciate any help. Thanks fellas.

RE: Service Light & Washer Fluid Sensor Question
Hi, I'm new here too but I can help you with the first part. Put the key in off position, press and hold the reset trip button, turn the key to position 3 like your going to start the car but don't go all they way, when you see the service light flash 3 times release the button and turn off car then on again to make sure its gone. Hope that works for you.

RE: Service Light & Washer Fluid Sensor Question
I just went out to the car to try it and the service light is still on.
The light flashed about 6-7 times, I turned the car off then started it and no go, I even let it flash then tried firing it up right away with no luck.
Does this trick work for you?

RE: Service Light & Washer Fluid Sensor Question
Alright, I got the light to go off. Put it on position 2, let it blink 3 times shut it off then fired it up and it's cleared. Thanks alot Flip, I appreciate it!
Would you happen to know anything about the washer fluid sensor? I may have to call IPD and see if they can't lend me a hand with that.

RE: Service Light & Washer Fluid Sensor Question
Nathan, did you find a solution to the windshield washer light issue? I'm experiencing an always-on condition, as well, though it doesn't seem to be tied to the brake usage as yours is. I've heard that disconnecting the wire from the sensor at the bottom of the bottle will make the light extinguish, but it did not in my case.
