Default Shift Lock Fuse Problem

The fuse for the Shift Lock/Cruise Control keeps blowing about every 3rd time we start the car and put it in gear. We use the manual unlock button, but the Cruise Control is also attached to this fuse. Any ideas or help on the possible issue. I haven't torn the console apart to check the solenoid plunger or the brake switch yet...

Thanks!

its a 1998

I replaced the micro switch about a year ago....so I had the whole console tore apart to figure that out...tested the solenoid...and brake switch, but at the end of the day, it was the micro switch...now just trips the fuse every second or third time starting/putting in gear...

Maybe the solenoid is bad.
I would remove the console and remove the solenoid and micro switch and see if it keeps blowing.
