Squiky brakes, need help
Helo I have squiky brakes, everytime I press the brake padel it makes a squiky sound. I had my brakes changed like 2 month ago, and I drive a 98 s70. Do u guys have any ideas on how to stop this, exept for changing the brakes because I have new ones
There's a liquid that you get, almost like a glue, that go on the back of the pads. Brakes squeeking aren't from the brakes on the rotors when you stop, they're from the the brake pads vibrating, this stuff subdues/stops the vibration.
LOL! Welcome to the European Auto Owners Club!!! What you have is a harmonic hum, like rubbing your finger around a wine glass rim. When the brake pads were installed someone should have installed the very thin pad shims and applied a type of grease that stops that. It is VERY COMMON. There is also a type of grease that can be applied to the back of the pad to stop it but I would use the shims if possible, it's more permanant.
