Default synthetic oil?

Hi folks! I am new to this site but a life-long Volvo owner. I recently purchased a 2000 S70 with 74K miles. I hope to keep it for a LONG time. I was wondering if anyone has any advice about synthetic oil for this car? Thanks!

absolutely you should use fully synthetic. personally i use Mobil 1 and have never had any problems. also amsoil is a good synthetic. how did you find one with only 74k?? what a deal. if it is turbocharged, i would also recommend you use premium gasoline to help prolong the life of your vehicle. and finally, if you are handy with a wrench i suggest you change to synthetic transmission fluid and synthetic gear oil.

Synthetic oil is a lubricant composed of chemical compounds that are artificially using chemically modified components of crude oil rather than whole. Synthetic oil is used as a substitute for refined lubricating oil for use in extreme temperatures, and it generally gives excellent mechanical and chemical properties of those found in traditional mineral oils.

Cheap way to keep your engine clean. Change it every 4k-4500 and you shouldnt ever have a lubrication problem.
