Tansmission Compatability/Sensor Issue
I have a 50-50SN (per transmission plate) transmission that is already in its last legs. What transmissions are compatable with this car.
2000 S70 2.4 Non-turbo, automatic.
I saw one on ebay but I do not know if it makes a difference, I know with certain models there is a difference in trannys due to turbo, non-turbo, 4 speed at, 5 speed at...
Please help...
Thanks,
Dave

I called my local dealer here in vegas, but they said they "couldn't" help me over the phone that I would have to go in, leave the car, and basically have them do the work...
I can do the work, just trying to figure out the truth, I also found out that it has to be the exact transmission, same year, same model, same features otherwise the transmission would not fit and/or the transmission ecu would not register it and render the car undriveable...
thanks in advance guys...

I believe the tranny is a AW 55-50/51SN.
I believe the tranny's are the same from 1999-2002 I believe.
You might have to swap the tranny harness from yours to the tranny.
But I have put different year tranny's in with no problems as long as it is from 99 and up.

Update...
I got a 2001 transmission from a wrecking yard locally, they had to bring it from UT. Anyways, I swapped it out yesterday, installed the new pnp switch I had in the bad transmission (i had installed a month ago in hopes that the transmission did not have irreversible damage), changed the fliud on the tranny...
No good... Flashing arrow still on, now it engages/disengages in forward and backwards drive (old tranny did it only in reverse but was stuck in 2nd or 3rd going forward), it struggles past 2k rpms like it looses power off and on till about 30mi an hr were it seems a little bit better...
I hope I can find some advice from you guys before tommorow...
The only scenarios I can think of:
1- I did not properly adjust the pnp switch (dealer visit)
and
2- I need to have the transmissions codes fully erased (dealer visit)
or
3- transmission that I installed had this problem as well...
Any help is greatly appreciated...

Tech,
Thanks, I will take the car to the dealership, I searched in the posts an I think that the cost is about $150 for pnp adjustment and another $65 to delete the tranny codes. Does this sound right?
Thanks,
Dave
