Unfortunately my 98' S70 is at a point where I don't think it's worth the repair and I'm in need of a new vehicle. I've been looking at the early 2000's S80's but I have heard there are issues with that 6-cyl engine. I did a quick google search and couldn't find anything. Anyone have any input on these early 2000's S80's?

 

Personally I have to say don't get it. The early s80's had a lot of problems mainly with the electrical portion of it. If you want to go the s80 route I would get a 04ish with the 5cyl.

 

I own an 02 and haven't had any issues with it really. Bad coils but then again I started the car cold when it was about - 25 as the high for that day this past January. Other than that regular maintenance. I've put about 4500 Mikes in mine since January and I love the car. I would love to have a mid 2000's S80 2.5 AWD turbo.. I'm not a huge fan of front wheel drive. Be careful of the transmissions on the early s80s as well. Not the best transmissions out there. Especially if you go with the bi-turbo model.
