Hey everyone. New to the forum and new to the Volvo brand!

Recently picked up a 01 S80 with 150k miles as a daily beater to get me around from home to work and what not. Its a neat car but has its issues.. though i cant complain since i got it for cheap.

Besides smelling like old crayons and old euro cars... my rear brake lights arnt working!Actually ill add some points...


* With key on the ON position
-Headlights and tail lights turn on (headlights never turn off.. read theres a way to turn them off but oh well)
*Pressing Brake
-tail lights do not get brighter. they maintain what they have on when the headlights are on
-Middle brake lights do not turn on at all



Ive searched around google and people mention the relays go bad...but they mention that their middle light is working whereas mine do not work what so ever. I switched some relays around with no success..

My second place i need to check is the brake light switch since ive read they go bad as well? anyone have similar problems that point to this switch?

I have been driving this car for a few weeks and only found out about this today... quite dangerous! guess ill take my S2000 out until i fix this
