Default 2002 Volvo s80 window Regulator

I have a 2002 Volvo S80 and my driver side window regulator broke. I took it to a body shop who got a new regulator, installed it but then they called me and told me that the window rolls only half way up. They called the dealership who told them that something needs to be reset in order for the window to work properly back again that I need to bring in the car for a diagnosis which will cost a $100.00.

Does anybody know if there is really something that needs to be reset in order for the window to work properly back again?

Thanks

Does it jam up or just stop?

There is usually no programming needed.

Per VADIS, programming is needed to set the limits on the window when a new regulator is installed. Otherwise the regulator doesn't know where to stop the window.

You can set the positions with the window switch itself.
Pull the switch up manually with the switch not Auto all the way to the top and hold it going up for 5 seconds. Then do the same thing going down and that will set the positions.
