I have a 2004 s80 and the last few week I just noticed that the odometer works sometime, then it quits working. When it does not work the cruise does not work..then the Brake failure light comes on and off ad well as the engine service required light.


This is happening every few days or so, the car runs great and there is nothing wrong with the braking system.

Any ideas?? TIA

The ABS Module/Speed Sensor is going south or you just have a bad connection. Since the check engine light is on, you can scan it for the fault code, helping you pinpoint the problem.

 

Had my ABS controller rebuilt about 8 months ago. Odometer not working is one of the multiple problems caused when this goes bad. It can even cause the air bag trouble light to activate. Never had a problem braking either.
