Aftermarket transmission cooler?
Hello,
if you've seen some of my other posts you'll know that I have a 00 Volvo S80 T6 executive edition that had 121,150 miles on it when I bought it for $750 (has over 126,000 miles on it now) with a possible transmission ready to fail . Anyways , I located a used transmission for around $700 with year warranty . I was wondering if I could install a aftermarket transmission cooler and bypass the radiator all together , since these GM transmissions are known to over heat. Would this work? I found a cooler for about $35 . It's 15" by 10" I think and 3/4 inches thick. (I think) Like I said just a thought.
Thank you for all your help.

Sure you can, but where are you going to mount it so it cools with the radiator fan or when moving how will you get air through the grill to it. It`s not worth the pain and agony you will have trying to engineer it and not make it look like a backyard garage bodge
