Default Clunk noise when in park

I have a 2004 S80 with 82000km. There is a clunking noise when I drive slowly over bumps. I tried the wheel bolts to make sure they were not loose and when I tried to tighten them I could rock the car back and forth about a foot and there was a metallic "clunk" from under the car...

From reading other posts I think the first clunk may be the O-ring problem but does anyone have any ideas about the movement & noise while in park?

Thanks!

O-ring???

About a foot? excessive! parking paw in trans.???

Did you take a 21mm wrench to the top of the strut towers? try to turn it 360°, if you succeed, great, replace the spring seat(s).

Check lower control arm bushings and ball joints as well.

Other than that, all the above stuff is over bumps, but you say when you rock it as well, so maybe there is play in the splines in between the halfshaft and hub. You can try to remove the wheel center cap, remove the bolt, push the halfshaft in and apply as much thread locker, low strength, around as you can.

It might or might not make any difference.
