Electrical issue??
I was here a few months ago getting help with loss of oil pressure. Thanks everyone for the help-turned out to be oil sludge issue fixed by replacing all 5 (?) o-rings in the pan pick up assembly (one was a figure eight shape from the pump trying to suck up oil) and a cleaning of the screen etc. Now on more frequent oil change plan, every 3K-4K I think will do using Penzoil Platinum.
Now on to the new problem that just arrived today for the ol'e 2000 S80. I'll list out the symptoms and maybe somone will say Ah HA!
1) It's been excessively hot and humid for days now
2) After normal start and operation for about 1-2 minutes, engine starts to run rough. Will die if I don't tap the gas pedal often. At idle sounds like muffled funny car, you know that sputtering sound?
3) Simultaneous loss of tach, and fuel tank gauges as well as A/C compressor that I've noticed so far.
4) In neutral and at a stop while it is rough, varying RPMs does not smooth out anything.
5) From a stop and putting in drive and accelerating, initial roughness quickly smooths out and enging runs normally to any speed. Roughness returns when coming to a stop. Gauges and A/C out for entire sequence.
6) After shutting off engine for a few minutes, it will start normally and run fine until everything above starts again.
There you have it. Any takers?
