Hello, I'm new to the forum.
I have some questions: I have a 99 S80 with a noise from the front passenger side. When I open the hood and turn the big bolt on the suspension mounting point (the big one in the middle), it turns freely and doesn't "resist" like the other side. Which part has broken? The car has 56k miles. Is this something one can do with basic mechanical skills?

Wow- I am getting this also. My car is a 99- 94k miles. I just got new rims and tires put on, can't prove if this caused it. I am taking it to the dealer tonight, so I 'll share what I hear back.

 

Dealer looked at it today. Broken strut mount (very common according to them). Part: $51, labor: $150.

 

yeah i had them replace that issue before i bought the car it was not a very had fix either

 

my car is doing the same thing the strut bushing with the big bolt is moving (thumps when i hit bumps evolved from squeek other side is starting to squeek[:@]) i replace mount and strut still have problem idk help
