You're probably going to need to replace the regulator. If the window is properly in the guides, replace the regulator.

That's wonderful news.
Does not seem like the easiest part to find although I did find the regulator made by Dorman, no motor just the regulator.
Wonder if anyone knows if this is doable?

The motor and regulator are all one part, from Volvo anyway. I'm not familiar with the aftermarket options.

Once you have it out and in hand its much easier to straighten out, depending on how bad you twisted them though. If I were you I would check with RSPI. This is the kind of part I would buy used as long as they came from an operating window. I would prefer a good used oem part over after market for this type of item.

John
Still figuring how to navigate this new site.
First Is there a detailed description on how to get it out and put it back in? Video ?
And what is RSPI?
I have seen a few used ones on ebay. I am very weary about those being bent also.
Is this something I should chance doing or bring it to someone?
I have done what I can to this one. I have used a panel clamping vice grip to straighten it but the thin metal must be fatigued as it keeps wanting to bend.
Thanks for the help
Mike

RSPI is a guy on these forums that has helped me a bunch getting parts. I think I am going to have to agree with you that it could be fatigued and will need replacement. When ES6T chimed in and said you may have to replace the regulator I will have to agree with him I trust his judgment here, he has worked on many more Volvos then I have and works as a volvo technician.

Just to be clear RSPI is the guy who makes the repair videos if you click on his name you can send him a private message that way. I recommend him because I have purchased parts from him and I know he won't sell you junk. Show him what you are looking at on ebay I am betting that he can do better, however even if he just matches the price you can feel good about buying from him because he has put of his time into helping people and that alone is priceless.

Knowledge is power the more you know the more powerful you are. I personally would do it myself, however if you have the door apart and have troubles you can always bring it to someone if you get stuck.

I will look this guy up and see what he has.
I was able to get it to go down if you jog it slowly, goes up ok but you can see the window moving side to side a bit.
I put it all back together. I have had enough of this job for now but I'm the type that has to have things working as they should so I will probably be replacing the regulator pretty soon.
Would you guys know if you HAVE to use those special rivets and if so can you use a pop rivet gun to install them?
Thanks guys, really appreciate the help
Mike

The rivets are metal, and a regular hand-held riveter likely won't work. This is what I use:

Marson "Big Daddy" Riveter 39010 | eBay

You could use a short bolt with a locknut I suppose. Just make sure it is short enough.

Default Nightmare fuel

So I bought the 2004 s80 a few months back and as someone trying to learn car repair. Wow. Just what a nightmare. All those posts from 6-7 years back are spot on. Absolute precision needed. I could tell the story of this window/window regulator but that ain’t gonna fix it! So my question is: can you somehow turn this into manual/crank window? Yes, I’m at that point. Otherwise thrilled with the car for the low $ spent. Runs fine
