Default hu-801 replacement

I have found a warrantied replacement hu-801 for my 2000 S80, needed as the CD changer doesn't function. Some months ago, I found some written directions for replacement, but can't locate them. There is a pictoral how-to on this site, but need to know if I need to disconnect the battery before making the change. Also, does anyone know who makes the radio; I'd like to explore a rear deck cd changer ad on, but don't know where to look other than the dealer, who wanted my first born as the cost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bill

Always disconnect the NEGATIVE side of the battery when working on anything electrical ..you should be able to go by any Automotive Audio Shop in your area and they should be able to Install an aftermarket CD player or whatever..however, have you thought about maybe XM Radio..I had it installed and now I don't even buy CD's anymore because they have so much to offer..you don't need any kind of player anymore. Good Luck and Happy Motoring...
