Noticed something weird on rims..

Default Noticed something weird on rims..

so ya as i was washing the car in cold and after sunset (didnt get any time in afternoon) i noticed that all 3 rims has a thing on the side of each rim. I think they are used for balancing the tires. But i noticed that the left back rim doesnt has it. I hope u guys know what i m talking about. took a pic of it too with a camera phone. Will that be bad for that rim???thnaks

Picture is not the greatest but it looks like a wheel weight. They are made of lead and come in increments of 1/16 of an ounce. They are placed on the wheel to balance it. If there aren't any on that wheel it is balanced and didn't need any weight. Next time you have your tires rotated it might need some weight so the guy doing the rotation adds or subtracts weight as needed.

Also, some cars don't have the traditional clip on weights, some are inner flat bars that are "glued" on a flat part of the rim surface:
