Well my rear-view mirror in the S80 has been broken since I bought the car. It had bled out all the way so hence it is always dark. Has anyone replaced just the mirror itself? I do not particularly care about the auto-dim feature, I just want a normal mirror that is easier to see out of. It hasn't been a problem so far, but as I am trying to sell the car it's not the best thing for it to be broken. I have heard that if I wanted another one with the auto-dim feature it's going to cost me an arm and a leg due to the price (seeings as it has everything else built into it).

Anybody know where I can get a replacement mirror for it, or I am going to have to get a glassy to cut up a custom one for me?

 

I picked one up locally from a salvage yard for $80 bucks

took about 30 minutes to swap

 

the tools you will need
10mm socket
30torx
small flat headed screwdriver (to undo plug)

 

You can't just swap in a mirror from another car because the the mirror housing contains the Upper Electronic Module (computer). According to the dealer, you have to get a new one from them, then it has to be programmed.
