My Volvo s80 1999 recently replaced another used tranny ...which is very good while normal drive ..a minor jerk which driver can feel...but while speeding there is a slipping like if I increase the throttle ....from 20KM/h to 40 KM/h and then at 160 KM/h.

Today I changed its oil with Castrol Dexron III. I did found some debris in the pan.

Any idea guys what actually happened to my tranny or i just ignore it.

 

If you Replaced it with a used one my guess that you would require a software update (dealer only). Being that most of those trannys are not plug and play. Do you hav a check engine light along with a transmission service message?

 

No there is no message on dash?

And how much does it cost to update from dealer?

 

Not sure they do charge per hour like 85 or more, i could b wrong, but they will check by the symptoms ur noticing, but be aware they most likely said also that u need a new tranny, typical of them.
