just changed oil and cannot reset svc engine light tried pos 1 hole trip meter turn to pos 2 and hold but do not get any flashes 2001 s80 2.9 non turbo any suggestions

Sometimes it just takes a while for it to work.

I have had it take 20 times of doing it before it resets.
