Default Tranmission or spark problem?

A few weeks ago I thought my transmission had started to slip on me. I pretty much assumed for sure it was the transmission seeing as how many ppl ive read about having transmissions fail at low miles like me. My car has 64k miles on it currently. I posted it for sale on craigslist stating it may have transmission problems and desrcibed the problem and I had a s70 owner message me sayin he had the same issue on his S70 and it ended up being bad coil packs and spark plugs. I changed my plugs and the problems still there. Just wanted to get a few peoples opinions before I splash out on coil packs in case the issue really is the transmission. What the cars doing is under hard acceleration (3000rpm or more) the engine seems 2 stutter and the rmps jump up and down 200-300rmp for a few seconds then the car makes the shift. Im finding it really hard to tell if its the engine misfiring or whether its the transmission slipping. I have someone who wants 2 buy the car and I dont wanna sell it for $7000 if the transmission's not bad, I'd hope to get about $8000 for it otherwise. I tried revving it in neutral and it does not do this but I figured when the engine is out of gear theres a good chance it wouldnt do this as it doesnt have as much resistance. any advice id greatly appreciate. I'm thinking if a coil were going bad it would store a trouble code in the computer. You could go to a local parts store (ie AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, whoever you've got) and get it scanned for free and find out.

I thought I had transmission problem when my car seems to have a hard time shifting between 2000 to 3000 rpm with fluctuating rpm at idle when in gear. It ended up the MAF was bad and with dealer diagnostic and repair was $500.You can replace the MAF yourself (very easy)and have the dealer reset the computer; would be a cheaper solution. Some people buy a sprayer and clean it, I would try this first since it's much cheaper (I didn't read on this until I had already forked out $500).You can probably do a search on MAF and find the thread that talked about the cleaner if someone doesn't reply to this thread telling you what it is.
