Default air conditioning stops blowing

2018 S90 T6 Momentum
trip to Boston 90 miles air conditioning works fine, visit hospital for 1.5 hours back to Springfield half way home air will get weak and you can hear the fan working but, it like a door is not opening???
let the car sit awhile and it goes back to working. happened only 3 times on separate trips. never just around town? It was a certified used purchase February 2020 so maybe it has to go in for a check.

any info would be appreciated,
thanks, steve2018

Your ac is probably freezing up, the evaporator is too cold, freezing the condensation on it, and the ice builds up until it blocks air flow. After the car sits and the ice melts ac works normally again. If it happens again before you get it fixed, when it stops blowing turn the compressor off and turn the heat on - that will melt the ice quickly.

Something is making your ac too cold - I have read there is a software fix from Volvo.

hook,

Finally got to my 30,000 mile check up. The mechanic agreed with you that a software fix might work for my AC problem of freezing up. he refreshed/ updated the computer and said to try it. if it's not fix they need it over night and will give me a loner to see what else they can try.

Also with the refresh of the computer the car is not searching for a gear when you turn a corner it's nice and smooth now. before when you slowed and turned a corner and started with the gas again it would like hick up looking for the right gear to continue. Now it's a nice smooth transition to the right gear. I always thought that was weird shift on corner glad it's seems to be corrected.. Also seems to accelerate smoother.

Thanks again for your tip and your time to answer my question.. i hope it helps someone else maybe.

Steve
