Default New V50 owner with a few questions!

Hello all! I'm not new to Volvos, as I've owned a 94 850 and an 05 S40 2.4i in the past. I just recently purchased an 05 V50 T5 AWD and I have a few questions!

1. As opposed to my previous vehicles, the V50's engine seems to take longer to cool down after shutoff than normal. Given, I live in Phoenix, Arizona and the temp is 100+ here already. But even 3 or 4 hours after shutoff, I'll start the car again and the temp gauge will be pretty close to the middle still. Is this normal?

2. I noticed today for the first time, that after shutoff the A/C continued to blow in the cabin, but only for a minute or so. I know of the after blow feature, but isn't that usually a while after shutoff instead of immediately after shutoff and only sporadically for a minute?

Thanks a bunch! If there are any other quirks I should keep an eye out for on my V50 I'd love to hear them!

Is your coolant reservour level staying constant to confirm your not losing coolant?
The temperature sensor may ??? be faulty and often results in inaccurate display on the temperature gauge.
If there is an issue with the sensor it is wise to check the thermostat is operating correctly at the same time.

Yep, the coolant level is fine, I'm not losing anything! I didn't even think about the temp sensor though.
