Default Please help!!! Hard start.

So about the car its 2005 v50 2.5t awd. It has an issue starting most of the time its fine but randomly it has trouble. When i go to turn it over it will crank once and then stop. Almost makes a single banging sound like hitting two pieces of metal together. The other issue is constant whitsle (not from turbo) the whistle does not increase with rpms it just constant.

1. crank once/stops sounds like a starter motor gear issue 2. whistle would need you to listen around under the hood - could be the vacuum pump or an air leak. Do the brakes feel ok at first start up?

Vacuum pump is currently disconnected do to a short in the unit. The new part should be here today or tomorrow. The whistle seems to be coming from the passenger side of the engine its louder from under the car but its hard to tell from where exactly. There is a pcv issue causing some vacuum in the crank case but even with the oil cap off the sound is there. And thanks for the quick reply!
