02 V70 rear shock replacement
I have a V70 i need to replace the rear shocks on. I have seen several videos on other Volvo's where the shock is removed from the top. Can I do it this way or do i need to jack up the car and remove it from the bottom. If it needs to come out from the bottom, how far up do I need to jack up the car? Judging by the new shocks it doesn't look like I am going to have enough height with the jack that came with the car.
Just did this to my V70 this week.
Pretty straightforward.
I used a floor jack and brought the tires a few inches off the floor.
Put jack stands under the car for safety.
Cleaned and sprayed bottom bolt , break it loose but don't remove.
Use 19mm offset wrench to take off top nut .
Remove bottom bolt and let shock drop out.
You might have to wiggle it around abit to get shock out.
Install new shock and tighten bolt/nut to specs.
Hope that helps.
