Default brake lights stay on

The brake lights on my 99v70r will not go off unless I pull back on brake pedal. I recently made a panic stop. Is there a part that broke that needs to be replaced?

I would say your brake light switch is bad,
You may have damaged it with the panic stop.
not a big fix about 15 min or so job to replace.

good luck

Was anyone under the dash lately?
The switches are adjustable. It might just need to be adjusted.

Remove the lower dash panel and look for the switch. There is 2 under there. One with a vaccum hose (cruise switch) and one with just wires.
Push the brake pedal down and push the switch towards the pedal and release the pedal. That is do that to the switch without the vaccum line.

Thanks Tech,
That was the problem. I just had to adjust the switch.
